wheelthrowing, handbuilding, and modeling. It’s versatile nature
makes it perfect for all skill levels. Glazes maturing at Cone 05 and
decorating colors are recommended for decoration. Fires white –
allows opaque and transparent glazes and underglazes to retain true
color and brilliance. Wider firing range – from Cone 04 to Cone 03.

AMACO® White Stoneware Clay 38M
No. 38 Stoneware is formulated from choice clays for plasticity and
whiteness and fire-clay for additional body. This clay contains no grog,
yet has the strength for throwing large pieces, slab rolling, and hand
building. Like porcelain, expect some shrinkage when applying handles
or connecting pieces. This clay body is particularly beautiful in wood
firings. Firing range is Cone 5 to Cone 10 with best results at Cone 10
where bisque is white in oxidation and gray in reduction, both delicately
peppered with darker gray specks. The white color of No. 38
allows all AMACO® underglazes and engobes to fire with little distortion
of color. Any of AMACO’s high fire glazes can be used, however some
may craze at Cone 5. Two 25 lb. bags per 50 lb. carton. No. 38M.

AMACO® Sedona Red Clay 67M
A favorite for colorful earthenware pottery because this clay is rich
red before and after firing. It has excellent plasticity for all methods
of clay modeling: slab, coil, pinching and even wheelthrowing. Does
not slump or warp at low temperatures like other red clays. The firing
range can extend up to code 02. Moist form. Two 25 lb. bags per 50 lb.
carton. Cone 05-02. No. 67M.
55158. Carton .................................................................................. $50.45
AMACO® Terra Cotta Clay 77M
Terra Cotta colored bisque that’s suitable for all glazes and underglazes.
Mixture of finely ground clays, medium ground clays, and grog makes
this an excellent red clay for a wide firing range including large scale
Raku pieces. Coarse formula allows air to release easily so large size
hand built or wheel thrown pieces will not crack and tile will fire flat
without warping. Moist form. Two 25 lb. bags per 50 lb. carton. Cone
05-5. No. 77M.
55164. Carton .................................................................................. $62.10
